KOPEK Music video.

kopek.jpgEoin Duffy is a graphic designer/animator studying for a degree in Graphic Design. He was approached by the Dublin band KOPEK in December 2006 to create a video for their single "Stop". After 6 months of work Eoin completed the video.

He was given complete freedom to do whatever he liked with the project. Finally, he settled on the idea of doing the video as a short movie through animation from which a simple story took place.

The resulting stylistic video is an excellent and artistic short that even grabbed
the attention of Computer Arts:

Additionally the video has recently been made video of the week on the Irish television show Night Shift!

Be warned the video does have some graphic elements in it that may shock some viewers.

I remember watching that video over on Blender Artists. Was very nice that a commercial production used blender.

    Man… that's really great.

Very impressive texturing and lighting work, mostly. Very good sense of camera movements and position, also.

Sad to see that the fat guy didn't like to work with Blender 2.42 every day… ;)

    Cheers

It was cool, seems like the whole video could be shortened by about a minute though because the music ends way before the animation does, and the end credits are up forever! Nobody needs THAT long to read those…

    This is real art!

But I wonder, is the 2D cartoon shown on TV done in Blender as well?

Wow - cool! It's really rather sad… my only crit would be that the texture used on the fat man/thing looked just a little bit odd - esp. the close up when his body moves on top of the roof (the little jump onto the wall round the edge looked a bit odd too) maybe that was intentional though?.. Other than that, I thought it was pretty good and I liked the way that the music changed when he sorta goes into the TV (well - round the other way as this was a music video but you know what I mean! ;)
    -epat. :)

@redbirdiii if you are talking about the part where the guy goes into the tv, yes the 2d stuff is done in blender. he said that on the BA thread which can be viewed here in case you want proof: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=98097

    Nice video!.
The horror of having to work with the blender interface for an extended period of time is very well visualized ; )
