Projects.blender.org SVN Migration

subversion_logo_hor-468x64.pngThere seems to be some spring cleaning and rearrangement around Blender these days. An announcement regarding projects.blender.org has been made by Ton Roosendaal.

Ton writes in the announcement:

At may 10th, this site will be upgraded:

    • A brand new (10 x faster) server will be used.
The GForge projets software will be updated
    • GForge default will be using Subversion (SVN) instead of CVS, all projects - including history - will be converted
    • The ssh keys will get dropped, instead direct login to SVN will be supported (svn login, passwd, go ahead)
    • All mailing lists get transfered

For time being the schedule is that we close the projects site on thursday 10, and migrate on friday 11th, and have it back running on the 11th or 12th.

Good. I can finally removed CVS from my computer as I no longer have any use for it.

I usually build blender with cygwin and make cvs updates. What do i have to change in my building method with SVN? Some steps for non coders like me?

Download the subclipse plugin for eclipse. It will add SVN to the team menu and you can work in the same way as before.
