Moonkiroe is video game project, whose whole graphical parts are made with Blender. It is Massive Online Role Playing Game in isometric 2D view, using 3D renders as sprites. The core game itself is developed using GameMaker with some C help.

I was looking through the SIGGRAPH Animation Festival schedule and discovered that Nils Thuery's Magic Fluid Controls Animation starring Mancandy is on the list. Nice to see a Blender animation at SIGGRAPH. You'll find it listed about two thirds of the way down on the site.

MaPZone, a Windows-based procedural texture editor, makes the bold claim of being the "most powerful texturing tool ever". Well…they've certainly made the effort to live up to the claim. What do you think?

It is finally time to vote for the winner of the 2007 Blender F1 Challenge. No less than 55 contestants participated this time, so there is quite a run for the 1st prize (A Blender Logo T-Shirt, Animusic 2 DVD, “Introducing Character Animation with Blender” book by Tony Mullen with a Sybex logo T-shirt).

Nothing big, but I'm teaching a 2 part 3 hour (6 hr total) Blender class in Kansas City on July 18 and July 19. It's through a community class summer program of University of Missouri Kansas City. It's called "Introduction to 3D graphics using Blender."

AnimWatch is having an animation challenge in hopes of helping to fill the void from the loss of the Ten Second Club. This looks like it could be a fun challenge. And the Blender community has a large amount of resources available to quickly start animating. Including the large collection of complete rigs.
Starting this summer another Blender book will be in progress by the talented Tony Mullen. And this one looks to be an exciting one. The one thing that really makes me smile about this book is that it will be in full color. And it will cover some of the deep mysteries involving simulations (hair, particles, etc.) in Blender.

The German version of the Blender Documentation is the book of the month at the German Wikibooks site.

Here's an example of a real time 3D puppet on YouTube though I don't believe it's done with Blender.
