Impressive rigs with actions available.

rigs.jpgEvery once in awhile some impressive things pop up for Blender users to learn from and experiment with. This is one of those things.

TheSudahlah at cgtalk has place three rigs up for everyone to experiment with. The rigs include a humanoid figure, a 4 legged dog creature and a 6 legged robotic insect. The great thing about these files besides the fact they are nice examples of rigs is that actions are provided for each character.

Each character has a series of actions including walk cycles, running, fighting, jumping, etc. So you can mix and match the actions, blending them to create your own animation. And with 2.43 you can use the new Walk cycle modifier to create more motion.
TheSudahlah says:

I just want to share my rigs
2legs, 4legs and 6legs
There's already an actions in it, a basic walk, run, etc….

hope will help, and usefull…

The files are not packed with the textures. But the textures are included in the zip file. Just rename the path to where the textures are located and the textures will be UV mapped. I've also updated the rigs collection post to include these rigs.

Download the rigs at:

You can see the included actions on :

And don't forget to thank him at the cgtalk thread or the blenderartists thread.

What is really amazing to me about his rigs are how he captures a very realistic and natural body movement in his animation for each character. These where keyed, no Mo- cap or BVH !
