Blender.org Gallery Updated: February 2007

hodiny_f.jpgWith all of the excitement of the Blender.org's re-design, we forgot to mention that the gallery had also been updated to show new work for January. My apologies. Fortunately, a number of you did notice and made comments about it. For those of you who did not notice, those pictures are now in the Archive because the gallery been updated with February's Blender art! There's some really nice work in there for February. In particular, you might want to see that we have some nice compositing work in there and some really nice high-detail pieces. Go check it out!

Challenge: find the duplicate object in the gallery :)

  2. 2 Bart Edit Link

Sorry, I meant: in the february gallery there is one object that appears in two images. Can you find it?

    Small sphere object…
BTW my favorite is the Watchmaker's by
    Vladimír Stána.

Bart: pretty easy…. the sofa made by Dantrix ;)

seriously: I think some of those pictures are just not worthy of beeing in the blender.org gallery… I mean: don't get me wrong, they're also nice work. But theire artistic value is (from my point of view) just not big enough to legitimate their appearance in the gallery. Just 0815 3D-pictures …

(I'm sorry If I offended anyone.. I don't mean you made "bad pictures" or whatever, just not as good as the other pictures. I may also have misunderstood the purpose of the blender.org gallery …)

for the Rest: great work ! …

    greeting, Tom

tom: i think its good for those who are new to blender.. so they also can be proud of what they done :) otherwise its easy to quit because you think you never is going to be that good. And later they will to do the cool pics ;)

    sry for bad english ;P

the dual thing is, that "Esfera" uses the "Sala" scene as back ground, I think, right? But in this case, there are more than one thing, that are used twice…

Esfara is a close-up of the Sala scene, yes. I reckon that's it too.

Great! I love viewing the Blender.org Gallery. Perhaps one day we'll get up to date with the Gallery, and actually have the Feburary one in Feburary, the March one in March, etc.

@Cuby: That's not likely. How can you have a gallery of the best submissions from a month before the end of that particular month?

Now, getting the gallery updated sooner and closer to the beginning of the following month; that's something I can totally agree with. Whoever the idiot is who does those updates really should get on the ball with it. Otherwise, I might have to kick him in the shins. ;)

Fweeb: That's simple. Just invent a time machine. :D

Nice work with the gallery. I really like how some artists have discovered the importance of dirt.

tom, i sorta agree with you, there are some realy nice renders there, but they dont realy express the best artisticaly and technicaly. Last month's gallery was way cooler.

    yes ^^
last moths gallery was cooler *mice*

I also liked the last month gallery more….
And that one before was even greater (not from skills, but from the type of images, which's just me…)

I'd like to point out that the Blender.org gallery only contains pictures that are submitted. There's no searching the forums involved or anything like that. You don't submit - you don't have a chance of ending up in the gallery. It's also the other way round - if people submit artwork that you think isn't as cool as last month, well hey, they should submit something better :)
