thumb.jpgBlenderWiki is the central online documentation server for Blender. With so many new features and enhancements in Blender, the wiki articles are very much in need of editing and, there is the need for new features to be documented. There are many ways that you can help. Here's how...

Before you can get started, there's a registration process to go through. This has been setup this way because of spamming problems in the past so, please be patient.

  1. I just wanted to say thank you to Kernon and Letterrip for posting this ... uhm "Thank you." :)

Nobody commented here yet, but seeing all those new accounts in the BlenderWiki speaks for itself ;) Welcome aboard the BlenderWiki and have a nice flight.

  2. Hi all,

please sign up at the wiki and then email me your user name (or in irc) and that will help you to get working faster.

  3. What about the Blender User that still feels hes not very experienced (like me) should he still try to edit some of these documents and even try and make his own?

  4. @Aussiedude
Well, I can only recommend serious editing/writing of articles to users that are more experienced. However, your lack of experience shouldn't stop you from making minor edits like spelling and capitalizations. For example, the "b" in Blender should always be capitalized because, in our case, it's a product name, not a kitchen appliance. Correcting little things like that really do make a difference. So, editing an article doesn't mean a major rewrite, it can often be something very minor. Just take the time to be accurate in whatever changes you make.

    Good Luck.

  5. All hail candy!!

-I think that the blenderpdf manual should be updated to the 2.4 era...
some of us like to just have the whole to take wherever whenever than
having to "return to the well" over and over again..

... but I'll see what I can do.. to append to the table..

The candy... remember to hail it..

All hail candy!! (and don't forget to smash :) )

  6. @Aussiedude & all:

As Kernon already mentioned ... the small fixes alone - such as the correct formatting of text & stuff - spares the other editors a lot of work and time.

For example the usage of the different key templates (see [1]) instead of writing out"[SHIFT]+[x]".
Or the usage of whole sentences (beginning with a capital letter and ending with a dot) instead of 3 single non-coherent words.
Re-writing whole sentences or even paragraphs without changing the content to be more clear.
    And many more...
