Here's another handful of items about recent appearance of Blender in the international media: a new Blender tutorial in 3D World magazine, an interview with Enrico Valenza in the Italy, mentions in two German magazines and finally the appearance of Elephants Dream on DivX.com
CGtalk, one of the most frequented pro-cg websites, is having yet another challenge. The challenge is titled Eon- Worlds Within Worlds a novel by author Greg Bear. We are going to take a look at the challenge and then point out a few of the blenderheads participating in the challenge.
I'll be in London on Friday the 10th of November to attend a workshop on 'Lightweight Content Management: Blogs and Wikis'. If you would like to meet up and chat about Blender for a couple of hours while enjoying a few drinks please read on.

During Siggraph 2006, I had the opportunity meet and interview Colin Levy (effstops) who was there to not only support Blender but do a presentation on the techniques he used to make "Suburban Plight" with Blender, which we posted about a while back. Colin has been a part of the Blender community for a long time (and being no stranger to BlenderNation headlines) contributing some good tutorials and great art work.
Well, with October coming to an end, its time for a new CVS report. Everyone wants to know what happened during the past month.
You might have been wondering why I haven't posted this already, the reason is really simple, we decided to include some features added to the CVS during this weekend and also generate the proper builds for testing.

VenomGFX has written a short but sweet tutorial on how to use Blender's ramp shaders to simulate area lighting. This method creates rather convincing lighting while not suffering from the same render times as area lights.

Walaber has published a freeware game called "Walaber's Trampoline". What makes it interesting (besides having a totally original and crazy concept), is that most of the modeling was done with Blender and that he used the Ogre3D game engine.
Jason Schluter (Jasonlan) of Blender3DTutorials.com reports that a new search site has been developed based on the new Google Co-op service for searching specifically through Blender related tutorials. Although extremely simple it already has plenty of quality tutorials archived.
