Jimmac has designed two alternative Blender Icon Themes based on Freedesktop.org's Tango Style Guidelines. The result is a refreshed, more modern look that many people seem to like, but it also raises a number of new questions.

Animator and Blender user Oscar Alvarado has new project called "Chibi World" that is based on the adventures of a bunch of adorable little characters. You can take a look at the teaser video (direct link) to see some of his animated work, or you can visit the Chibi World site for some other goodies like avatars and wallpapers.
The primary developer of Blenders Sequence editor Peter Schlaile has requested feedback and suggestions for improvement of Blenders Sequencer (referred to as a NLE - non linear editor in most other software).

The CVS builds are probably more popular than ever given that there are dedicated build threads (1), build sites (1,2), and the ability to compile Blender yourself. Given this, it's always nice to see people diving head first into the newest tools and showing the rest of us what we can look forward to in the next release.

Jason Bonham [p00f] has created a Blender game that everyone on the BlenderArtists forums is raving about. It's a combination of breakout and space invaders and contrary to most Blender game projects, this one is finished, highly playable and quite addictive.
Last February, we wrote about Andrew Kator's Blender 3D Model Repository, a great and well maintained resource for Blender users. In July he closed down, but an alternative is now available.

After going through the dramatic change from Elysiun to BlenderArtists, Blenderartists.org now has a new theme.
Ton Roosendaal will be giving a presentation called 'Open Source Blender' during the 'Focus on Themes and Future Vision' session at the Dutch Game Days 2006 in Utrecht on november 23rd 2006.
Do not use any builds from November 19th, 20th, or early part of the 21st - it can destroy irrecoverably any armature file used.
