Blender Conference Day Two

filipp.jpgSaturday was as exciting as Friday, if not more so. To start off, most of yesterday’s streams are now available for download via BitTorrent. Please check the downloads page on Blender.org and remember to leave your client open when it’s finished so other people can benefit from it. The Art Festival video will probably be online tomorrow – the guys here are working hard to make that a reality.

Michigan Blender User Group Meeting

map.jpgA group of Blender enthousiasts is meeting up in Warren, Michigan on Thursday, October 19 at 7:00PM and Saturday, October 21 at 1:00PM.

Honeycomb, the organiser, writes:

1) Location

National Coney Island
30140 Van Dyke Avenue ( between 12Mile and 13Mile )
Warren Michigan

2) Time and Date

Thursday, October 19 at 7:00PM
and
Saturday, October 21 at 1:00PM

Come to one or both or neither but each meeting should cover the topics below at a minimum.

3) Meet and Greet

No laptop, no internet required. If you have one bring one if not it’s really no big deal right now. Lets just get together.

3) What a user group is and what we could do will be the topic of the meetings. It’s our group so we could do anything related to Blender and 3D.

4) I will have my laptop so I can begin to take notes and document some ideas we all come up with. All in all this is supposed to be the creation of something fun ( after the all the planning is done ).

I’ll be the guy with the Blender (a real one and possible mascot ) on the table. I hope to see as many of you guys and gals as possible.

BConf 2006: Which Interviews Would You Like to See?

blender-konference5_s.jpgThe Blender Conference begins tomorrow and I’ll be there for three days, armed with my videocamera, microphone and laptop. As the organisation has already found enough people to help them record the sessions, I will be free to focus on giving a general impression of the event and on interviewing the attending Blender superstars.

Take a look at the Conference Program and let me know who YOU would like to see on camera and which questions you want me to ask them.

Free Print Magazine! – Computer Graphics World

cgw_906_pc1-2.jpgThis is a magazine that I’ve received for almost a couple of years. It’s always a good quick read and has lots of info on new software. Also, there’s always a behind-the-scenes feature on the latest computer animated films and movie special effects. It’s certainly not Blender-specific but, I think it’s important to know what’s going on in the industry, outside of your own preferred sphere of activity.

The magazine focuses on innovative graphics technology and applications. Written for engineers, researchers, designers, and animators, CGW explores how leading-edge graphics techniques are used in CAD, architecture, scientific visualization, special effects, digital video, film, and interactive entertainment.
