I'm showing Elephants Dream this Sunday (24 September) as a "pResentation" at Project Resolution, a monthly filmmakers' event here in Richmond. The whole event starts at 7:00PM at the Firehouse Theater. For more information on Project Res and directions to the Firehouse, go to http://www.projectres.com

There is a yearly Film Festival in Homer Alaska, Sponsored by the Local Library. I think it would be very possible to have Elephants deam shown there. Is there anything I could do to have it shown.

    Hi Clinton,

you can download Elephants Dream for free from elephantsdream.org; you don't need to get their permission (in fact they encourage people to download and show the movie). I can't help you with the organisational side of things, of course.

    Cheers,

    Bary

Heh well at least I am back int he state now, unfortunatly I didnt read it until 920PM Sunday, sorry;)

Dang I wish I had known about this one earlier, only been in the firehouse on occasion, and had a few frirends that presented projects at Resolution, so I have been interested.

Out of curiosity, is there a Blender User Group in the area that meets at all? I don't do much 3D, still teaching myself, but it would be interesting to get together for a bit if there is one, possibly working on a few projects(I do sound primarily myself) as a group?

    Thomas,

Sorry you couldn't make it out. Maybe I'll see you at next month's Project Res. :)

There are currently no Blender User Groups around here right now… but I'm discovering that there are probably enough Blender users within a 50 mile radius of Richmond to get one started (and I'm playing with the idea of doing just that). Also, we're putting together a workshop on Blender in the very near future. If you want to be kept up to date on those things, send me an email (jason at handturkeystudios dot com) and I'll keep you posted.

    Take care.

Hmm there is a project res meeting next month… Heh I gotta look that one up apparently;)

Yea I have been finding more blender users lately around VCU as well, though not an excessive amount, I am also usually not availiable to spend time searching either;)

Ill drop you an email, have fun.
