United States Blender Conference?

16

U.S Blender UsersIf you are interested in a Blender U.S. conference, yeshuawatso has a discussion going on at Blender Artist. The big question is, are there enough interested U.S. Blender users and where are they located so that a reasonable location can be selected.

So if you are interested in getting together with other users in the U.S., check out yeshuawatso's thread at Blender Artist and let him know where you are located and if you'd be able to attend a conference.

let the conference competition begins.... really, I just believe that a wrong placed conference will just split the user group too much and will make conferences boring due to the lack of a united blender group. And if you think this isn't true, then please explain me where the people coming from Kansas/New-york/etc. go between a montréal or a Pittsburg conference...

Either you guys make one far away of the north east (California) or make a single (mixed with the Montréal one) one in norther/eastern usa. There is not enough people willing to travel and pay for a weekend long conference to have 2 conferences near each other.

Next year will be a nightmare if we keep discussing that very point -_-

  3. we had one in Sydney, Australia, 2 years ago, but last year there was a lack in intrest and the other person organising bailed on me, so i had no option but to cancel it.

might be enough interest this year. anyone?

  4. I wish someone would come to good old Florida. Siggraph was in Orlando one year. I MISSED IT! Put my vote in for organizing a blender conference in the US.
