campzone-S.jpgCampzone 2006 is the largest outdoor LAN-event in the Benelux (Belgium-Netherlands-Luxembourg) with over 2000 participants. BlenderNation was contacted by Ben Kamphuis to find people who can host a Blender Game Design workshop for this event.

Ben is the publisher of 'Start Here - Gamedesign for Beginners', a Dutch introduction to the art of Game Design.

Ben wrote:

I have suggested giving a Blender gamedesign workshop/presention and the organisation was very enthusiastic, also because many HCC members are using Blender already. And I just published a booklet called 'Start Here - Gamedesign for Beginners' that also mentions Blender. The use of laptops for hands-on training, a beamer and screen, a large tent, food… it's all possible.

The dates I have in mind are Monday, July 24th or Wednesday July 26th.

Books that mention Blender? Cool! We'll celebrate this by giving away three copies to the first Dutchies (the book is in Dutch, sorry) who send in a cool (link to a) Blender Game engine related tutorial, script or other download.

There is no programme for the workshop yet, so suggestions are welcome. Also, nice to know: there is budget to pay you for your work. If you would like to give this workshop, then please get in touch with us and we'll hook you up with Ben.

What do you think a Gamedesign workshop for absolute Blender newbies should look like?

    @jitendra chowksey
    your point about people thinkin they are elite is not true. Search on the internet and you will find many tutorials. The blender community is not an elite (well maybe in some point of view ;-) an you can get the profits of such a large en enthusiastic community

    About the workshop: its great, and now im happy i'm from the same country of our great Ton Roozendaal!

    @jitendra:
    I don't think you've done too much searching around my friend. There's more help online than you have time to completely go through. Don't put yourself on an island by claiming there is no way to get help. Try harder!

    jitendra chowksey, just sign up on blenderartists.org/forum. You can get LOTS of help there.
