This is the title of an interesting series of tutorials released by Daniel Sefton on his site, a “must” for all those racing-sim-developers-wanna-be being hardly tempted by Club SILO.
This guide shows you how to create basic models step by step starting from a 2D draft and ending with a simple engine to test your tracks:
- Preparations
- Modeling the Track (Part 1)
- Modeling the Track (Part 2)
- Texturing the Track
- Final Touches
- A Simple Test Engine
The modeling technique exposed by Daniel can be useful in “standard” CG too, just think of a country landscape crossed by a road/river, I bet that few of us know how to create something like this keeping the mesh clean…
Good work Daniel!
