Theres also this book called "Modelagem e Animação com Blender", ÉRICA, William Pereira Alves,
released 5/2006, 1 month before, also in Portuguese language, another Brazilian release!

Both books seem really good! This one is available @ Portugal

It's exactly what I've been looking for to start the learning of Blender from scratch.
Pretty good stuff to people like me that live in Brazil and have great interest in Blender and 3D design.

It's a shame that this book isnt in english, this looks like an excellent book.
The diagrams are clear and the information is concise (from what I could piece together from my knowledge of other latin languages)

I would definitely buy a translated copy of this book :D

Sounds great. I wish a book like this existed in English!

Although there is a multitude of tutorials and of course the blender guide, there is no one cohesive book or multimedia presentation that provides a unified project approach to showing you how to intergrate and make effective use of all of the tools in blender. I agree that the blender guide doesn't do a good job of explaining how to actually use the program in a real-world production environment (and I don't necessarily mean a professional environment).

I think it would be great to have a book written around, say, elephants dream, showing you how to use blender in a real world production environment, although ironically elephants dream may actually be a bit much for such a concept!
