Blender Winner in Animago Contest

escher_th.jpgBack in February we asked you to make us proud by submitting your Blender art to the German 2D/3D competition Animago. Well, you did!

The “Up & Down” entry by Sander Wit made 1st place in the “home/still/art” category, beating eleven competitors.

As a personal note, I’ve been carrying this image as the wallpaper of my cellphone ever since it appeared in February :)

Hmm… I like it too, but my friend has similar poster (real one, on real wall:P) for ages. Anyone know it’s name ?

BTW Sander, could you render a BIGGER one ? :) I don’t have anything nice for 1280×1024 :P

tokugawa: I think it’s inspired by Escher – but I might be wrong though

  • Wim

    Congrats!

  • Cortot

    Congratulations!
Since the appearance of this image it is in my personal favourites folder. Very clean, very cool setup. Congratulations!!

Tokugawa: That render is based on an Escher’s picture. Sander Wit recreated it in blender.
As far as I know, the name of the original is the same: UP AND DOWN.

    Hey thanks guys :D

Bart just mailed me about this topic… so sorry for the late responce.

I recieved the official certificate last week and I ordered the magasine where all the winners are shown in, but that will take a while still I guess.

I am working on a tutorial or perhaps better called a project overview of this project and it will be shown on this website when I get it done. (I should have finished it ages ago but other things came up. So sorry Bart…)

    Best regards

    Sander Wit
