_mancompo1.pngTwo reports have appeared on the Orange Blog. First, the DVD masters are now ready and the production has started. Ton is still reluctant to give off a shipping date, but he expects the production to start at the end of this week or early next week.

Further, Bassam has posted an update of the downloadable Mancandy character rig.

It now works in Blender 2.41 and has simplified controls, an on face animation control setup, and most importantly, working facial controls. Bassam has also added a comprehensive description of how the layers and armatures work.

Note: this is quite a complex setup. If you are looking for an easier character rig to get started with animation, check out Ludwig.

i think it Works only with New Testing Builds!
If you open the blend file "Mancandy" in Blender 2.41 you cannot see the Blue Bones!
If you open the blend file in One of the New testing Builds you see the Blue Bones……because 2.41 not have Armature Layers!

Excellent. I just hope to have enough money saved up to import a copy of the DVD.

The NTSC version is send to the reproduction company and to Bassam in the US.
Now if Bassam says the NTSC works then the reproduction of the NTSC can start pronto.
If not, then I need to apply the fixes and resend a master to the reproduction.
When the error is something serious as a-sync audio then a fix needs to be re-tested as well.
I expect no problems, but that is pretty obvious; I would not send a disk with known errors all the way to the US. The PAL version gets in production this week, as far as I know.

Funny stories about how I'm getting a millionair from a 'fake' orange project can be found on the orange blog… http://orange.blender.org/blog/creative-commons-license-2

I'm the first to say I'm very sorry it took so long to produce the dvd masters.
It's been a rather frustrating process to try to get this thing done— I'm sure to vent that later.
